Day 3 – October 3rd

First of all it’s nice to see so many comments after each post I make. I don’t know about you but I learned from Dan’s post yesterday. Dan! Maybe you should elaborate more on your success :-)

I also want to comment on the AuctionTNT promo yesterday and the reasons behind promoting. Well Mike is holding a JV competition and it started yesterday and runs till the 15th of October. The top 5 referrers get a prize with the top prize being $1000. I am delighted to say I have just received an email telling me I am in the top spot. I don’t know how long this will last but let me explain further.

Promoting products via JV competitions gets you recognized. As your list grows you gain more leverage and in turn you start to appear in the competition rankings.

Let me give you an example…

I ran a JV competition for PlanetSMS Digital Mentorship Monthly when I launched the site. You can get all the details from this link:

http://www.mentorshipmonthly.com/jvupdate/

Now what do you think would happen if your name was on that list?

You would be contacted by other Internet Marketers for JV requests as you are seen as a person who can make sales. In fact it would not surprise me if everyone on that list was not contacted at least once and probably a lot more.

Now let me show you another 2 links:

http://www.bestofebay3.com/blog

http://www.auctionselling101.com/blog

I also managed to win the JV competition for Jim Cockrum’s membership site My Silent Team but the competition page is hidden.

What will that do for my reputation? The answer is I am slowly becoming someone who can deal with the ‘big boys’ as they can see I can generate lots of sales. How I generated so many sales is another story and I may go into in more detail another time but let me tell you if you ever get the chance to take part in JV competitions you should seriously consider it as even if you come last your name is seen by some top marketers.

Anyway, I’ve said too much already so back to what I did today :-)

I added 2 new items to my eBay inventory.

One was an eBook (item 320165772891) and one was the September edition of PlanetSMS Digital Mentorship Monthly (item 320165814230)

As I remove monthly editions from the main site I put them on eBay. I remove each edition after 2 months to protect current members investments. The main reason I add the removed editions to eBay is to promote the main site. If you ever buy a monthly edition there is a good chance you will sign up at the main site and I then have a recurring sale from you.

The eBook I added to my eBay inventory is not mine but it will still make me money as I have the tools in place to generate a backend income from it. I go into more details on video in the September edition of PlanetSMS Digital Mentorship Monthly

Both products will now be sold on 100% autopilot and I never have to touch them again.

I uploaded the first draft for my new eBook.

This is the first time I have mentioned what my new eBook will be about. I am going to put a lot of work into launching this eBook and I you will see how I do it on the blog this month.

The eBook is just about written and I have just received a 1st draft of my sales page from my copywriter. You will see the page change dramatically over the next few weeks as I personalise it and you can track my progress.

The title will be ‘Resale Rights Blueprint’ and the 1st draft of the sales page is at:

http://www.resalerightsblueprint.com/draft1/

I hope todays blog doesn’t look like blatant promoting of my products but that’s what I did today.

I hope you got some value from the JV comp info and I look forward to your comments.

    John,

You mentioned someone that you find it helpful to use your own template in ebay. Can you give me an idea of where to pick up a template like yours? Can you give us some pointers about how to make our listing standout. Thanks

    Hi John,

I think i must be getting addicted to reading your blog but what the hell.

It will take me some time checking out all those links John but I think it will be worth it.

I finished my ebook today, and am just waiting for the graphics to come back.

I find it a hard choice as to how to promote a book these days John.
How do you go about deciding weather to promote it as an affilitae book or with resale rights or do you incorporate both?

    Best regards,
    Mick

    Hi John

I just wanted to stop by and say great job on the blog. It’s a good read, and it’s always nice to see what other marketers are upto.

I have to agree 100% about what John said about JV contests giving you leverage. I finished 3rd in the contest for Mentorship Monthly, only two weeks after starting my IM list, and this was the catalyst for a great deal of success.

In fact, I wouldn’t have been able to launch my Standing Start Profits site if I hadn’t have finished so high in John’s contest.

The amount of JVs and opportunities that this opened up was simply incredible. I have to thank John for inviting me to take part. If I hadn’t have joined in, my business wouldn’t be where it is now.

    So thanks!!

    Hey John and Lee!

As a regular subscriber to both of your products, which would you say was the best way to promote a new product?

I have just finished my new book and am stuck on the bestway to sell it.

Should i sell it myself via warrior forum, ebay, etc with resell rights on offer or would it be better to sell through affiliates on sites such as paydotcom and clickbank, and keep all rights to myself?

Both your thoughts would be appreciated chaps.

    Regards,
    Mick Menesse

    Hi John,

Using eBay to capture potential subscriptions like that is a superb way to promote Mentorship Monthly. If any readers haven’t joined yet, it’s highly recommended.

    Cheers

I’ll confirm just landing on the leader board for promoting MonthlyMentorship ended up with me being invited to take part in at least 4 other JV’s

The extra benefit is that you get to grab some cool memberships and products at no charge :)

So not only did John pay me a nice nonus – but that was qudrupled in the value of extras I got out of it …. lovely thank you.

I’m away at Britpack from tomorrow morning John – So I’ll have plenty to look forward to when I get back sunday evening…. so please excuse my absence.

Thanks again John. It’s only been a few days but I’ve already got more useful info from this blog (and it’s associated links) than I have from weeks of unguided googling.

    Cheers again John,
I went off at a tangent today again, but remembered your comments yesterday – and I have achieved something! It is difficult to keep on track but I can see where your focus is.
Keep up the good work – look forward to tomorrow’s “episode”.

I am Actually glad that You are “promoting” your Products:)

Not many people can be so honest and open about how EXACTLY they are earning their money. So there is nothing wrong about it.

In fact I quite like to click on it (that ‘s alone probably generate you much more traffic)

and see exactly what it does and your explanation about how it
“fits in a bigger picture” are better demonstrated and easier to understand.

    So thanks,

O, by the way I Just though to mention that…

When I first heard of Your Mentorship monthly, I thought well it is only a fiver with the refund option, would be interesting to find out what this guy does and how he earns his money.

A bit of Previous history: I was disappointed first time i had signed for some membership site like that and I did NOT GET Anywhere near with Ebay ( only wasted quite a lot of time and money). Mind You i had NO knowledge about Ebay, apart from its name existence and I even was not sure what they were doing or “?selling?”.

Back to the point. I am still Learning and highlighting areas on what I need to find out more about and what to improve on, BUT

After I had you monthly site access (I did not even log in for about a month), but when i did and understood few bits and pieces which taken me all Sunday, I thought fare enough it is only 90 days or so,
why not to see how it will go and i might have a shop (if it is work out around my birthday…

Guess What TODAY I have open a shop and it was SO mush simple then I thought!! I still re-reading you 90 days updated challenge :
    http://www.powersellerchallenge.com/updates/?latest=4490

    But I have A SHOP NOW !!!

    http://stores.ebay.com/books0-99

And it is 3 days before my birthday.

So thanks, I guess that worked.

… …. I just wanted to say that i do have a shop now, but it turn up to be a testimonial…

Good Night, it is definitely time for meto go to bed :)

Auction Rookie – Having an eBay template not only means I can create a listing in minutes as all I need to do is paste the sales text into my template. It also means my auctions stand out and give me an identity.

I get all my graphics made at Planet Divinity. You can check them out at:

    http://www.planet-divinity.com/graphics.html

Mick – I would do both, what I mean by that is create a short report to promote your main eBook. Sell your main eBook on ClickBank and the short report on eBay. Allow the report to be branded to promote your main eBook and be sure to include all the tools necessary to make it go viral. Check these newsletters for more info:

I too joined John’s J.V. contest and finished in the top 20.All the way through the contest John, was sending out newsletters to his list with the latest contest “league table” standings.Everyone that took part had a link to their website included giving them exposure and visitors to their website.I achieved the top twenty finish without having any experience of J.V’s and without having a mailing list.Shortly after the contest ended I received four J.V. requests in as many days!I enjoyed the experience immensely! I now regularly receive J.V. requests by email and I advise anyone who receives a J.V. request to think carefully about joining before dismissing it. I would like to thank John for giving me the opportunity to take part in the contest. I have learned a hell of a lot from it, the biggest thing I have learned is that you need a list! John has always advocated this so, since John’s contest, I have been concentrating on building myself a list. At the moment I have a list of 150 subscribers which I am quite pleased with.
What I am trying to say is, don’t think “I can’t do that,I haven’t got a list” or “I can’t do that I’m not experienced”,this is a great way of gaining experience and making helpful, generous contacts.
I’d better stop rambling now or you’ll be calling me Randy Mk2 (not that that would be a bad thing)!

I understand the principle of JV partners.I do not have a big list and have a hard time getting one. What is the use if you have no list?
I know about e-bay but do not understand how and why you use them. Are you saying that you take a months content on your site(blog) make an e-book out of it and sell it on e-bay?
I do not have an e-book yet but I know how to create on technically.
I understand the use of a copywriter but cannot afford that either.
P.S. people write articles on e-lance for only $7.?
    Thanks John
